Biothreat Response Laboratory
The Biothreat Response Laboratory works with physicians, clinicians, hospitals, laboratories and veterinarians to provide testing for the following agents/diseases:
- Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax)
- Ebola virus
- Brucella spp. (Brucellosis)
- Francisella tularensis (Tularemia)
- Burkholderia mallei (Glanders)
- Novel Coronavirus (MERS-CoV)
- Burkholderia pseudomallei (Melioidosis)
- Orthopox viruses
- Clostridium botulinum (Botulism)
- Yersinia pestis (Plague)
- Coxiella burnetii (Q-fever)
This testing is done using the following technologies:
- Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
- Direct Fluorescent Antibody (DFA)
- Culture (Bacterial)
- Microagglutination Assays (Serological)
